Assemblies in the Run-up to the Habitat III Conference

The Business Assembly and the World Mayors Assembly took place on October 16, one day in advance of the official conference.

The Business Assembly discussed the role of the private sector as an important source of innovation and technology and as a key implementation partner for cities and urban settlements that had long sourced business solutions to design, build, operate, and maintain major infrastructure and services.

In the World Mayors Assembly, over 300 local and regional leaders, representing different global networks of local and regional governments, gathered to submit their joint statement to the Habitat III Conference and to commit to contribute to the achievement of the New Urban Agenda.
