Slow city is featured by slow-paced urbanism and spatial form. Normally it refers to a town or community with a population of less than 50,000. In such cities, motorized traffic is reduced, green spaces and hiking areas are increased, and the individual characteristics and local symbolic products of the city are protected. Meanwhile, no fast-food courts or large supermarkets are built. In essence, it is a specific type of slow lifestyle, including slow food, slow walking, slow school, etc. Slow city is by no means turning back the clock and letting people have an outdated life. Instead, they are good at synthesizing modern and traditional life’s elements, so to improve the quality of life.
