Space notation annotates and records spatial elements, uses and feelings, etc. in the form of pictures, photos, and texts. Space notation analysis is the most effective approach used by modern urban design in spatial analysis. It absorbs the advantages of environmental analysis techniques such as site analysis, sequence view, psychology, behavioral architecture, etc. It is suitable for designers to deepen their understandings of design tasks and help to improve the effects when observe spatial relations. There are three kinds of space notations: uncontrolled notation observation, controlled notation observation, and partially controlled notation observation.
