Healthy Supportive Environment

Healthy supportive environment, defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), refers to an autonomous environment that provides the public with freedom from health threats and enables them to perform their abilities and develop health. Communities, schools, workplaces, sports and leisure and other places should provide the public with healthy resources, together with the opportunities of empowerment. From the perspective of architecture, the design of a healthy supportive environment aims to achieve the beneficial influence of various elements in the environment through designs, based on the concerns of the behavioral and psychological characteristics of different people, stimulating people's positive emotions, and consolidating people's ability to obtain and maintain health.
