City Information Modeling

2022-03-16

City Information Modeling (CIM) is the assemblage of the digital technologies as the governance engine of cities. Such digital technologies include BIM (building information modeling), Internet of Things, cloud computing, GIS (geographic information system), block chain and other advanced technologies. CIM integrates urban surface and underground, indoor and outdoor, historical and nowaday and future; it combines multi-dimensional and multi-scale information model data and city perception data to build an urban information organic complex of three-dimensional digital space. The construction of its platform standard and the popularization of CIM related technology will be an important focus of China's future smart city development.
