Rural Landscape Heritage

Rural landscape heritage is the material and intangible heritage of rural areas. It includes the land's structural form, water, infrastructure, vegetation, settlements, rural buildings and central areas, local buildings, transportation, and trade networks, as well as broader material, cultural, environmental relations, and other factors. It includes the expression of relevant cultural knowledge, traditions, customs, local community identity and sense of belonging, and it indicates landscape's cultural value and meaning of past and modern ethnic groups and society, and covers the technical, scientific, and practical knowledge related to the relationship between human and nature. In essence, rural landscape heritage is the cultural heritage of agriculture.
