Urban Field

2022-07-27 | UPSC

The urban field is a place where visible and invisible information flow, capital flow and subject flow interact in a complex configuration. They constitute a discrete place and a fluid network. The city itself is featured by social, political, and technological changes; not a coherent and stable field, but a dynamic process of ongoing change and development, and an organic total. The urban field theory redefines the relationships between image and field. It does not take the image as a well-defined object, but an effect produced by the field-an instant moment of intensity, as either wave peak or wave trough in a lasting field.
