Energy consumption can be further divided into direct and indirect energy consumptions, with the former referring to the energy consumed during the process of production and living and the latter referring to that consumed by the products used in the process of production and living, such as raw materials, assistant materials, and machines and equipments. The direct energy consumption mainly consists of three parts, i.e., the direct energy consumptions of production, living, and transportation. In China, as the data of direct energy consumption is more accessible than that of indirect one, it is more preferable in the studies on carbon emissions and energy consumption.
